The artisan cast metal sample of a stainless steel countertop shows how slight imperfections will develop on the top and provide character.
The tops can be pre-distressed in our shop, much like these samples, or you can allow them to develop their unique pattern of use organically.
Stainless steel is a relatively hard metal, so it will not develop marks or scratches easily, but there is a chance that some marks will appear.
This metal sample of artisan cast stainless steel shows distressing marks and some of the marks the top may accrue over time.
These marks are fairly easy to care for. Regular maintenance may be done with Windex, or any other non-abrasive household cleaner, and scrubbed with a fine steel wool pad (000).
To prevent scratches or marks, we recommend using cutting boards for direct food prep, and trivets for oven-hot pots and pans.
Any liquid spills should be cleaned up as soon as possible to prevent any marks or rings.
The brushed finish is just one texture option for our artisan cast metal countertops. Just like sheet metal products, they are available in the standard finish options of brushed, matte, or with a patina.
The countertop is not meant to be monolithic and will continue to evolve throughout the lifetime of the stainless steel countertop.
